Auctions can be a lot of fun and often brgains can be bought. If you have any queries as to the conduct of an auction after
reading this, just ask one of our staff.
Register
Before you buy you must register at the office where you will be required to complete and sign a bidder's card. On the reverse of the card are the Terms and Conditions of Sale.
This card has a number which will enable you to bid for this sale only. You must register for a new number at each auction you attend. Return the smaller section to the cashier
and keep the remaining card in your pocket so it is visible to the auctioneer.
Inspection
Take advantage of inspection times prior to auction day so you can make an assessment. No warranty is given with your purchase. Check for defects and faults so you are fully aware of the
condition of the item. Compare prices.
Bidding
To make a bid, raise your hand distinctly so the Auctioneer or assistant can see you. After you have made your first bid the auctioneer will watch carefully. Bidding can be raised by and
increment nominated by the auctioneer. Be careful - you cannot withdraw a bid once it has been made.
Absentee Bid
If you are unable to attend an auction and wish to bid, you may leave an absentee bid with the office. This means we can bid on your behalf, not in the excess of the amount you
have stipulated. However, if the bidding does not reach the amount you specified, you will be the highest bidder at the conclusion of bidding. (No phone bids can be accepted.)
Buyers Premium
An 11% (including GST) Buyers Premium will be charged to the purchaser on the knockdown price of each lot purchased.
If Successful
The item will be sold to the highest bidder, subject to a reserve price, if any. The auctioneer will take down your bidder number, which will then be processed within 5 or 10 minutes.
Reserves
In some cases, an iitem may have a reserve price (which the Auctioneer of Vendor allocates) that much be reached before a sale can result. However if the bidding does not reach this reserve,
sometimes the highest bid can be referred. Reserves can not be given out.
Payment
Strictly cash, bank cheque or EFTPOS, by 5pm day of auction. We do not accept personal or business cheques unless otherwise approved - no exceptions.
Removal of Goods
All goods can be collected after the auction and must be removed by noon the following day or as advised. Delivery can be arranged.
Times
Refer to board for each section. Starting time (always be early) and as a guide to Auctioneer sells approximately 110 lots per hour.
