MISSION STATEMENT
T.H.E. Auctions provides a practical, unbiased environment in a professional manner to sell small and large quantities of stock for its clients at the best achievable prices.
BUSINESS HISTORY
T.H.E. Auctions (formerly Southport Auctions) is the longest established auction and valuation business on the Gold Coast. It remains the only traditional auction house south of Brisbane. Established in 1969 T.H.E. Auctions started out in Southport but due to its growing success, relocated to Miami in 1991. Outgrowing this location we moved to our new site 285 Nerang Rd, Southport in March 2010 accupying 2300 square meters of showroom/floor space. T.H.E. Auctions has conducted more In house and Onsite auctions than most other Auction houses in Queensland.
To further consolidate its presence in the growing Gold Coast region, Grays Auctions & On-Site Auctions were purchased in August 2004. T.H.E. Auctions boasts the most qualified and experienced auctioneers on the Coast with over 33 years combined experience but also provides the biggest comprehensive range of 2nd hand furniture, commerical, catering and hospitality goods in the region.
T.H.E. Auctions has evolved into a professional operation that has been associated with the largest hotel resort refurbishments on the Gold Coast, has conducted a staggering number of on site auctions and completed the entire plant, equipment and seabed lease auction of the huge Lloyds Shipping complex at Bulimba in Brisbane.
Over the years T.H.E. Auctions has also provided tremendous support to many trainee auctioneers in their endeavours to enter the auctioneering environment.
T.H.E. Auctions currently conducts a weekly general Thursday auction and incorporates its fortnightly commercial/catering equipment section. Also to support the weekend consumers T.H.E. Auctions provides a fortnightly Sunday furniture/homeware auction involving general renovator items as well.
Our professional integrity and reputation is
second to none and is your guarantee to quality services.
BUSINESS ACTIVITIES
T.H.E. Auctions specialises in traditional auction room sales, onsite auctions and asset valuations. We are able to package complete auction and valuation solutions from the initial proposal to marketing, brochures, catalogues, buyer registration, staff and finalised, computerised reports.
Another function of our operation is valuations. We have the experience and reputation for being at the forefront in providing valuations for all situations, including receivership, loss adjuster programs, administrator, family and company disputes, insolvency projects and other situations.
Whether in our showrooms or completing onsite auctions, we have the latest technology that allows easy weekly processing of all goods sold.
TRADITIONAL AUCTION SALES
There are few fairer ways of establishing a price for an item than by an auction. Tried and tested over the past couple of hundred years, this method of transferring ownership of anything from a piece of furniture to something as big as a yacht has proven itself to be a transparent and public method of conducting a sale process.
T.H.E Auctions continues to conduct the biggest range of quality 2nd hand furniture items available on the Gold Coast, incorporating such goods as:
● Domestic new and used furniture
● Redundant lines
● Whitegoods
● Factory seconds
● Artwork and Collectables
● Computers and IT goods
● Police Stolen and Unclaimed goods
● Industrial machinery
● Restaurant/cafe catering items
● Pawnbroker pledges
● Jewellery
● Shopfittings
● Office equipment
ON-SITE AUCTIONS
On-site auctions often provide convenience and reduce unnecessary costs in relocating goods to an auction showroom. Most of the time a higher return can be achieved by making the owner's premises the site of the auction. In the business' own environment, the aim of this is to ensure that dealers, end users and all entities are all competing to pay the highest price for each nominated lot.
For over 20 years T.H.E. Auctions has been attending to on-site auctions and have the experience, technology and empathy with the vendor's situation in ensuring the best possible return is achievable.
VALUATIONS
Nearly all valuations are provided on the basis of a current market appraisal format for the item/s in question. Should an 'Auction Value' be required then this is described as the "estimated amount the asset would realize in our Auction Rooms or On-Site in a Public Auction between an anxious seller and willing purchaser, given that the sale period would be relatively short but supported by appropriate advertising."
Our auctioneers are available for valuing items as small as several pieces of furniture, to business relocations, to motor vehicles, to plant and equipment and complete home contents.
MARKETING
Marketing will vary depending on the vendor and the nature of goods up for auction. The most common forms currently used are:
● In house advertising targeting the regular auction goers
● Weekly 'upload' of information onto our website
● Weekly general classified advertising in the Gold Coast Bulletin
● Other metropolitan or regional newspaper's classified advertising
Other forms of marketing user are:
● Radio or television
● Specific industry mailouts
● Letter drops
